The Second Canadian Citizenship Ceremony in Celebration of Nowruz
On Friday, March 22, 2019, the ParsA Foundation, in collaboration with the volunteers of the Symposium of Iranian Professionals in Quebec (SIPQ), proudly organized the Second Canadian Citizenship Ceremony dedicated to Nowruz at Concordia University, Montreal. This was yet another historic event, bringing together distinguished guests, new citizens, community leaders, and friends of Iranian culture.
In this ceremony, 140 new Canadian citizens from 32 different countries received their Canadian citizenship certificates in the presence of respected dignitaries, community representatives, and members of the Iranian community.
As in the previous year, a beautifully decorated Haft-Sin table was presented, symbolizing the essence of Nowruz and Iranian tradition. The meaning of Nowruz and Haft-Sin was eloquently explained in English and French by children of Iranian families, allowing all participants, including non-Persian speakers, to connect with the heritage.
The ceremony also featured traditional Iranian music performances, including a heartfelt presentation by Mr. Jalizadeh, musician, and cultural performances that were warmly welcomed by the audience.
In his speech, Dr. Reza Parsa Nejad, President of ParsA Foundation and SIPQ, expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, new citizens, volunteers, and sponsors who made this unique event possible. He emphasized the importance of blending Iranian traditions with Canadian multicultural values, highlighting how Nowruz serves as a bridge between communities.
The ceremony was made possible through the support of our generous sponsors:

At the end of the program, participants were invited to enjoy Iranian sweets and refreshments, while continuing the celebration of Nowruz together in a spirit of unity and joy.
The ParsA Foundation and SIPQ once again demonstrated their commitment to fostering cultural exchange, strengthening community ties, and celebrating the shared values of diversity and belonging that define Canada.
